Since its last inaugural conference in October 2024, the African Network for Canadian Studies has taken an important step forward in its structuring. Driven by a desire to boost academic exchanges between Africa and Canada, the network has recently reorganized around a new, representative and committed board.
At its head, Dr Norris ERHABOR (English-speaking) continues to preside over the network, with the mission of guiding its strategic orientations and reinforcing its visibility on the international academic scene. He is assisted by Professor Emeritus IKPONMWOSA OWIE (English), Chairman Board of directors ANCS , whose expertise and experience are a major asset for the development of scientific activities.
Professor Mercy ONWUAMA (English-speaking) chairs the Scientific Committee, guaranteeing the quality of research and intellectual exchange within the network. On the technical side, Fernande Cœurbie MANGA DIABA (French-speaking), a doctoral student, chairs the Technical Committee, responsible for the logistical and operational organization of events and projects. Last but not least, Afaf El Yaakoubi (bilingual) Ambassador of the ANCS in Morocco and Chairperson of the Communications and Translation Committee, ensures smooth linguistic exchanges at scientific meetings and effective dissemination of the network's work.
The Board, currently made up of three English-speaking members, one French-speaking member and one bilingual member, reflects the linguistic diversity of Africa and Canada, and embodies the network's desire to promote an inclusive and dynamic dialogue between researchers from both continents.
